The weather is warming up just in time for one of the biggest parades on Long Island. The Rocky Point St. Patrick’s Day parade will be held this Sunday, March 15. It begins at 1 pm. at the intersection of Harrison Ave and Route 25A and continues east along 25A.
In addition to the floats, bands and Irish dancers, Rocky Point restaurant BBD’s—short for Beers, Burgers, Desserts—will be offering up their own festivities along the parade route.
On Sunday, their normally busy parking lot will be converted into a parade viewing area complete with an enclosed party tent. Food will be available for purchase, including corned beef and cabbage sausages, plus local beer to wash it all down. Greenport Harbor Brewing, Barrier Brewing, Port Jeff Brewing and Crooked Ladder brewing will all have beer on tap. Better yet, beers will be $3 and served right from the brewers’ fire trucks or vans.
And don’t worry, BBD’s didn’t forget about the kids. There will be a Spongebob bounce castle in the parking lot, free of charge.
BBD’s is located at 49 Route 25A in Rocky Point.
