Small Business Spotlight: Nettie's Farm and Market

Nettie’s Farm and Market is a bakery, café, and so much more. The bakery opened to the public this spring, and has quickly become the go-to spot for locals. Relax with a treat and a fresh cup of coffee out on the covered patio overlooking the rustic organic garden. Paths through the garden welcome wanderers, and the chickens are always happy to see new faces.

Nettie’s has teamed up with Early Girl Farms, an organic grower from Moriches, so there is fresh healthy produce in the farm stand on weekends from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Early Girl Farms produce is also available during Nettie’s Friday Night Market; each Friday evening from 5 to 8, local vendors including Long Island Mushrooms, Monte Breads, and Long Island Pickle Company bring their wares to Nettie’s. There is live music on the patio by some of the best regional acoustic artists, such as Bryan Gallo, Pandafan, Jesse Cooper Levy, and occasional visits from national touring band Swear and Shake.

Friday nights at Nettie’s are bustling with locals who come to meet up and share the news of the week. The people are friendly and the atmosphere is family-oriented and casual. Nettie’s provides picnic blankets, and sells burgers and chips outside, and a scrumptious assortment of baked goods inside.

Nettie’s Farm and Market is committed to the concept of “locally grown” and they have made it very easy to experience. Bring your lawn chairs down to Nettie’s Friday Night Market and buy fresh bread. Slather it with artisan pesto and fresh mozzarella. Top it all off with a fresh donut from the bakery while listening to great original music under the grape arbor. A perfect August evening.
