Movie Theater Forces Crowd to Use Their Phones for an Experience They Won't Forget

I can't explain how much I love this. There are certainly a lot of things that "grind my gears" (to borrow from one of our favorite cartoon dads), but texting and driving might be one of the biggest.

I don't understand it. I can't figure out how and why anybody thinks whatever is happening on their phone is THAT important that it needs to be addressed immediately at the expense of every one else's safety. Are we really that addicted to the constant connection we now have with everyone that's ever come through our lives that we can't take 15 minutes out of our day to just commute to and from work by ourselves?

Is the radio really that boring? Why not go to your local library and get a book on tape or listen to a podcast during your commute? There is literally no excuse you can give that makes this ok. Any conversation that is truly that important wouldn't be happening via text message. Get a hands-free system in your car or a bluetooth headset to put on while you're driving so, if there is an actual emergency, you can also not end up in the emergency room, along with whoever you end up taking down with you.

Thank you Volkswagon, please keep spreading the word and help us make our roads safer again until Google's autonomous cars make this issue obsolete.
