RadioShack has always done pretty well catering to their core demographic of DIY technophiles. Unfortunately, the advent of e-commerce means the specialty electronics that RadioShack has always relied upon have become far easier and cheaper to acquire via other means.
Fortunately, they've realized the need to reinvent themselves, and this ad is a great public statement to that fact. Great job to the marketing team over at RadioShack for playing on our desire for nostalgia while still getting their point across and admitting their issues publicly.
I also want to give a quick shout-out to our friend Dee Snider who appears here! We recently did some custom design and print work for Dee over at Searles Graphics and he's a great guy; it was fun to see him back in his best Twisted Sister gear!
