George Clinton was the mastermind behind the bands Parliament and Funkadelic during the ‘70s and 80s, and has been called one of the most important innovators of funk music, next to James Brown and Sly Stone. Clinton was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 with 15 other members of Parliament-Funkadelic.
