Can you really call yourself a Long Islander if you've never gotten a quacker at a Ducks game or taken a selfie with the Quacker Jack? Sure those big league teams in the city are poised for some post-season play this October, but this month there’s still time to catch some great baseball in Central Islip at Bethpage Park (not in Bethpage btw) and root for the real home team, the Long Island Ducks.
The last home game of the season is Sunday September 13 and also happens to be Fan Appreciate Day where the Ducks will give back to their loyal Long Island fans. To kick off, there will be a 15 minute pre-game autograph session with the Ducks players for all ticket holders at 12:35 p.m. There will also be a gift card giveaway; every inning one lucky fan will be chosen at random to receive a gift card to a popular Long Island restaurant. To close out the day, all the kids will be invited onto the field after the game and get a chance to run the bases. This is a great way to close out the summer and spend a Sunday at the park with friends and family while supporting Long Island’s only pro baseball team.
