So, you want to go for a bike ride...but it's damn hot out and the manual labor of it all sounds unfulfilling. Worry no more, Brew Crew Cycles has got your problem solved – and then some. You can now enjoy a leisurely, less laborious day on a bicycle and enjoy a nice cold brew. Need I say more? Well, no not really...but I will anyway.
This (approximately) 2½ hour bike tour allows you to enjoy a scenic view of Long Island's East End atop a 14-person bike, and visit three local breweries in Riverhead. The bike requires 8 people to actually commit to pedaling in order to keep it moving, so should you not wish to pedal, or you aren't able, there's still room for you. Pedalers get the excuse that with great pedaling comes great responsibility...or just a greater reason to refuel with a beer flight, either way it’s a day of indulgence for all.
To keep you motivated and keep the energy up along the way there is music pumping and, as long as it's appropriate, musical requests may be met! While alcohol is not permitted on the bicycle, other food and non-alcoholic beverages – in plastic cups – are allowed. So pack yourself up a hearty snack to keep you moving (and drinking) for the duration of the tour. Keep in mind, the Brew Crew Cycle team does not condone extreme intoxication, so enjoy yourself but be mindful that this is certainly not a free for all, and you don't want to embarrass yourself or worse catch a $100 charge if you end up getting sick on the bike.
To book a seat on the bike simply visit Brew Crew Cycle's booking page and reserve yourself a space. For just one seat it is $30, and it's important to know that the price of tastings are not included in this price. For an all-out celebration you can book the entire bike for the 2 ½ hour tour for $375. Nothing says bachelor party like boys on a bike and drinking beers!
Good to know: Sneakers/comfortable shoes are highly recommended, especially for those pedaling. Tipping is not required but is, as always, greatly appreciated!
The Brew Crew Cycle tour starts & ends at 285 Pulaski Street, Riverhead – location is also a short walk away from the LIRR Riverhead Station. Open to participants 21 & over. For more information & FAQ's visit brewcrewcycles.com.
