Never has a bank been so much fun....well, a reformed bank that is. Monsoon Steak and Sushi took over the Bank of Babylon building, standing since the 1920s, to bring to the area a swanky restaurant/lounge hybrid. Opening its doors in February of 2012, Monsoon's chic décor easily brings the space from Saturday night's dinner and drinks to a night of dancing.
The grandiose exterior of the former bank with its now sultry red adornments gives way to the Asian fusion restaurant that gives off a Manhattan vibe, without the attitude to match. A friendly and attentive staff is what you'll find here, as well as a bit less of the over-crowded shoulder to shoulder scenario. With a few designated dining spaces, heading upstairs to the balcony style dining room is prime – giving off a more intimate, but not too secluded, seating area.
With specials throughout the week Monsoon offers some excellent ways to get a taste of their menu options at a great deal. To get an early start to the weekend head to Babylon for a Thursday night wine dinner. For just $40 patrons can enjoy a three course meal with the perfect wine pairings.
Holding true to the saying 'the early bird gets the worm' Monsoon's price fixe “Sunset Menu” is served from 4-6pm, daily. For just $21.95 this is a great way to get a sense of the vast menu having 7 different entree options, a starter, and a dessert. Just be aware – your entire party must be seated by 6pm in order to order from this menu.
Also serving as a great place to host a private event, Monsoon offers numerous packages to cater to your needs. Bosses take note – holiday parties at Monsoon will be one for the books.
