No Secret, It’s Truth and Beauty at this Roslyn Spa

At last, a service road on Long Island that offers more than just a relief from traffic on the LIE! Offering a hybrid of retail therapy and beauty treatments is Truth and Beauty Spa, located on the South Service Road adjacent to the Eastbound LIE in Roslyn Heights. Looking to escape traffic and work on your skin regimen? Pop into the spa and allow yourself to be doted on by the friendly, attentive staff.

Truth and Beauty Spa is relatively new to the area, just two years old, and is owned by Secrets and Wives stars Cori and Sandy Goldfarb. Last night the two hosted an event to celebrate the spa, and the success and season finale of the Bravo TV series Secrets and Wives while guests enjoyed cocktails, “a moment of truth” (read: beauty consultations), and a sneak peek at the season finale of the show airing tonight July 21, at 10pm EST.

An enlightening experience, your “moment of truth” with a VISIA machine, and LME (licensed medical esthetician) will teach you a great deal about your skin: the good, the bad, and the ugly. The machine takes close-up photos of your face from three angles, left, right, and head-on. The program allows you to see UV damage, red areas, texture – among many other things – and gives you a percentage rating. Your LME can suggest treatments that will help bring these ratings to a more desirable percentage, be it a laser treatment, preventative fillers, or just a simple under eye cream.

Probably the best part of this experience is that at no point did I feel pressured to take part in any procedure recommended. This spa, unlike many others I have been to, does not feel like a sales room.

Aesthetically, the spa itself is beautifully laid out, clean, crisp, and complete with a knowledgeable and amiable staff. With a glass of champagne in hand it's easy to lose ones-self perusing the shelves stacked with beauty products that you never knew you needed, but now can't seem to live without. Could be the champagne, could be the promise of relief from skin problems and wrinkles, either way – I'll take two (more glasses of champagne) bottles of eye cream.

Truth and Beauty Spa also offers make-up application (and lessons!), spray tans, hair removal, and massages. The spa also carries a jewelry line designed by owner Cori Goldfarb if you're looking to treat yourself in more ways than one. This spa is really a one-stop-shop for all of your beauty needs.
