That Meetball Place, also known as TMP, is one of the newest hipster magnets in the Patchogue entertainment core. The location is ideal, with non-metered parking just across the street. The exposed brick walls set that Brooklyn feel, with long family style bar tables. We were dressed in jeans and t-shirts and felt right at home in this venue. A familiar craft beer selection and half price well drink specials tempted us to linger longer than planned after a busy afternoon. TMP tagline of “A Place to Meet and Have a Ball,” really sums it up.
Catering to the trendy geek, the menu becomes its own conversation piece, with hero selections like, The Motherlode, a classic meatballs with marinara & cracked burrata sandwhich, and The Ball Buster made with spicy chorizo balls, shredded lettuce, caramelized onions, tomato jam & roasted garlic mayo. Diners will forget everything they thought they knew about meatballs when exposed to unique balls, like the Moroccan Lamb blended with 8 exotic spices and paired with Cool Tzatziki sauce, and Lobster Risotto Balls saffron rice, lobster & fresh veggies, turn this eatery into a tasting experience for the most critical foodies.
That Meetball Place adds to the trend of local businesses in Patchogue promoting arts in the community with, events such as Paint Nite, a social event for new to experienced artists to paint with the guidance of a professional, are already sold out for the end of March. Live bands and charity events round out this boiling hot spot in downtown Patchogue. 54 W Main St. Patchogue, NY, (631) 569-5888.
