4 Hamptons Golf Courses Where You Can Actually Tee Off

The fall is a perfect time to grab your golf clubs and enjoy a day or few hours at one of the Hamptons beautiful golf courses. Below is a list of the Hamptons golf courses which do not require membership to play. 

Montauk Downs

Located at 50 South Fairview Avenue in Montauk, Montauk Downs, which was named a top municipal course in 2013, is open to the public. The facility, which is maintained by the State of New York, offers a championship-length 18-hole course that was designed by Robert Trent Jones. The park also features a driving range, six championship tennis courts, a main swimming pool and a wading pool for children, as well as a catering facility, a clubhouse and a grill room serving breakfast and lunch. 

Poxabogue Golf Center

Located at 3556 Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton, the Poxabogue Golf Center, offers a 9-hole course and driving range that is open to the public. Those looking to use the facility just need to book a tee time two weeks in advance. The center also offers private lessons. For pricing, click here.  

Sag Harbor State Golf Course

Located at Barcelona Point in Sag Harbor, the Sag Harbor Golf Course, which is maintained by the State of New York, offers 9 holes on 48.8 acres. The course is open both weekdays and weekend and a fee schedule can be found here. The facility also has a clubhouse and a putting green.

Indian Island Golf Course

The Indian Island Golf Course, which is located at 661 Riverside Drive in Riverhead, is operated by Suffolk County and is open to residents and non-residents. The course offers 18 holes, a putting green and a driving rage, as well as a clubhouse and private and group lessons. For a fee schedule, click here.
