If you are looking for something special to do this weekend with friends and family Labor Day weekend, here are 4 must-attend events this weekend across the East End from the Hamptons Classic Horse Show to a pow-wow in Shinnecock. So, grab your calendar and start making plans.
The 38th Hamptons Classic Horse Show will be held August 24 through August 31, starting at 8:00 a.m. each day. The show, which will take place at 240 Snake Hollow Road in Bridgehampton, is one of the largest horse shows in the United States, featuring a $250,000 Grand Prix, 70 boutique, international food court, pony rides, a petting zoo and more. Tickets are $10 per person, $20 per car load, kids under 6 are free, and all kids are free on August 30.
On Saturday, August 30 and 31,from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the 6th Annual Westhampton Festival of the Arts will take place on the Great Lawn of St. Mark's Church, located at 35 West Main Street in Westhampton Beach. The festival, which is sponsored by Paragon Fine Art Festivals, will feature artist creations from paintings to jewelry to sculpture and mixed-media. Free admission.
The Shinnecock Indian Nation, located off Montauk Highway in Southampton, will hold their 68th annual Pow-Wow Friday, August 29 through Monday, August 25. Gates open at 3:00 p.m. on Friday and at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The event, features over 100 vendors, native artists, drum and dance contests, raffles and a sunset fire lighting. Tickets: $15 adults; $10 children ages 6-12 and children 5 and under are free.
The Montauk Lions Club is holding their annual craft fair on Saturday, August 30 through August 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Montauk Village Green, located at 742 Montauk Highway. The event will feature craft vendors, as well as homemade foods. Free Admission.
