There are more than a few benefits and galas to attend this summer where you can dance and dine alongside celebrities; one of those is the annual Gimme Shelter Animal Rescue benefit, which is in its third year.
By attending the Gimme Shelter benefit you will not only enjoy an evening at the home of Ellen and Chuck Scarborough, but will support an organization which aims to rescue animals that are destined for euthanasia in high-kill facilities across the country through both foster and adoption programs.
The benefit is set to be held on Saturday, July 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Southampton at the home of the award-winning NBC anchor and correspondent, Chuck Scarborough, who has adopted two Gimmee Shelter dogs and will act as master of ceremonies.
Joining Scarborough as the master of ceremonies will be Emmy-award winning comedy writer and proud rescue parent Bill Persky of the Dick Van Dyke Show. Also during the benefit, singer and songwriter Loudon Wainwright will perform as attendees enjoy cocktails from sponsor Tito's Vodka, wine from No Malice Palice of NYC, and passed hors d'oeuvres, which are being donated by Ricky Eisen of Between the Bread, located in Manhattan.
The evening will also feature a "Smooch the Pooch" kissing booth with Leo the therapy dog, music by DJ Ray Jarrell, a Bark Box, where attendees can fill their own box with various toys, bones and treats, as well as a live auction.
The auction boasts prizes including a champagne lunch for 4 on a private boat, a guided tour of NBC studios, a ride in an authentic World War II aircraft, as well as a private jet flight.
There will also be a silent auction that includes items such as a vintage Ralph Lauren suede throw, tickets to The Tonight Show, and gift certificates to the American Hotel and Topping Rose.
Tickets are $125 in advance and $175 per person at the door and can be purchased by clicking here.
