9 Hamptons Events To Attend 4th of July Weekend

Independence Day is just days away and there is plenty happening across the East End to make this 4th of July a memorable one. Below, find 9 things to do this weekend, from fireworks to festivals and art shows.

Fireworks

The Westhampton Country Club will put on a free fireworks display that can be viewed from just about anywhere along Main Street in Westhampton Beach on July 4. The best viewing, however, is from the Great Lawn, located at the end of Main Street. The show starts at 9:00 p.m.

Fireworks will explode over Montauk as the Montauk Chamber of Commerce presents its 4th annual Starts Over Montauk Fireworks show.  Official viewing is at Umbrella Beach, but the display of color can be seen from any beach in the area.  The show starts at 9:00 p.m. Rain Date is July 5.

At 9:00 p.m., the Riverhead Business improvement District will light off the fireworks of the evening at Grangebel Park, which over looks the Peconic. There are picnic tables along the viewing area, but unless you arrive early to secure one, you will want to bring a chair or picnic blanket.

Carnival Fun

Wednesday through Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., the Peconic Bay Medical Center will be holding a festival/carnival on Route 25 across from the CVS in Wading River. The event will feature rides, games, and food. Be sure to stay for the fireworks show on Saturday night that starts at 9:00 p.m. Cost: Free Admission, $30 POP rides.

Fine Arts Shows

The free Amagansett annual fine arts festival will be held at the American Legion, 15 Montauk Highway from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The whole family can explore the fine art, drawings, and prints by local artists.

The Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church, located at 2429 Montauk Highway, is hosting free fine arts and craft show from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The show, which is sponsored by the South Fork's Craftsmen's Guild, will feature fine art from across the East End, including paintings, photography, furniture, jewelry and woodcarvings.
