The shift to summer is complete. It’s July and it’s hot. Everyone from two to 92 knows the best way to view July is over a towering ice cream cone. Come to Bellport for a taste of that old-time-Americana feeling we all crave. Situated just south of Bellport’s “four corners” on Bellport Lane is Carla Marla’s, a tiny old-fashioned ice cream parlor.
Carla Marla’s is as picturesque as they come, with a white picket fence, a few tables scattered out front, and a row of candy jars along the window. They offer lots of flavors of ice cream, malteds, and milkshakes, alongside mouth-watering displays of candy. They even carry frozen treats for your pooch!
Grab something delicious, then explore the quaint and beautiful village of Bellport. Walk down to the docks at the end of Bellport Lane to visit the playground and watch the boats, or wander back through town and peek into the shop windows. Either direction is sure to give you exactly the small-town summer experience you have been missing. Carla Marla’s accepts cash, credit and debit cards. Summer hours are Sunday thru Thursday, noon to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, noon to 11 p.m.
