Tuesday, November 11 is Veterans Day and across the East End, there are several events where you can pay tribute to the men and woman who stepped up to serve our country.
On Sunday, November 9, the Quogue Library, located at 90 Quogue Street, will pay tribute to veterans with a special discussion forum about recent books about veterans. Moderating the discussion will be Phil Keith, author of Blackhorse Riders: A Desperate Last Stand. Registration is required at this free event by calling (631) 653-4224.
Members of the VFW Post 550 will hold a parade in Amagansett, starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11, to honor veterans. The parade will start at London Jewelers and continue to the veteran's monument where a brief ceremony to commemorate those who sacrificed all during wars will be held.
The Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events will hold a ceremony on Tuesday, November 11 at 11:00 a.m. A parade will precede the ceremony at 10:45 a.m., starting at the First Presbyterian Church and travel down Jobs Lane to Agawam Park.
