Ready, Set...Relax

Need to unwind a little more while visiting Long Island's beautiful East End? Well, you've come to the right place to be pampered. There is no doubt that there are a number of fabulous and luxurious salons and spas that will cater to your every whim. In an effort to guide you in your quest to discover total relaxation, I have chosen a few special places that are sure to please.

First up is the Beautiful You Center for Healing Arts in Southampton. A place that owner Geomare Aviles is quick to point out is not a "spa" but a "wellness center." Geomare is quite humble about her soothing establishment which exudes serenity as soon as you walk in the door. She takes great pride in the service she provides her clients who, for the most part, learn about Beautiful You via word of mouth, and keep coming back for more due to the individual and unique treatment they receive while there. Focusing on not only taking care of the body but also the mind, the center offers a wide range of services including rejuvenating and healing facials, massage therapy, and holistic medicine, among others. "Time is not money with us," Geomare explains. "All treatments are tailored to meet the needs of the client and if we feel there is reason to take extra time we will do so as long as it works for them." In fact, that is what clients appreciate the most; the time and care taken with them. If you have to choose only one treatment, I say go for the facial...it is truly special. Not only are you doing something beneficial for your skin but it really is a whole bodyhealing experience. The esthetician never leaves the room. If there is a mask on for a period of time, the esthetician takes over on another area of the body such as the feet or the neck and shoulders. Another bonus is the amazing products they use. Geomare is extremely proud of the business she is building and she is doing so the old-fashioned way – amazing customer service. She truly cares about making someone genuinely feel better, and you will surely not be disappointed.

Naturopathica in East Hampton is a spa gem on the East End offering everything you could possibly want in the way of skin care and massage therapies, as well as fabulous products unmistakable in their signature blue bottles. Specializing in soothing and effective natural treatments, Naturopathica has a rich heritage of sourcing from local farmers and the owner, Barbara Close, even grows her own herbs in her backyard. If you're feeling adventurous and want to try something new go for the Plant Stem Cell Facial. Currently the most popular and innovative treatment at the spa, it combines ultrasonic and microcurrent technologies with a Plant Stem Cell Serum to stimulate new skin growth and slow cellular aging. In layman's terms it is a "natural", non-surgical face lift... can't get much better than that! Also you won't want to pass on a visit to the "Apothecary Bar" where you can custom blend your own beauty products such as shower gel, body lotion, bath and body oil, and shampoo.

You will certainly walk out of Salon Xavier in Sag Harbor feeling better then you did before. Specializing in a full range of hair services as well as body and facial treatments, manicures and pedicures, and more, you can spend the day at this salon and feel like a whole new you! The space is a breath of fresh air; very open and studio-like. Owner Xavier Merat stresses that the salon uses all organic products which is definitely a draw for his many followers, celebrities included. One client points out how Xavier and his highly trained team really take the time to analyze, and give one a style that works best for them in every way. They are also not afraid to try something different with the end result always amazing. Another thing to note is that the prices for services are not over-the-top for such luxury treatments in the Hamptons.

Heading over to the North Fork for a romantic getaway set amidst the quaint beauty of vineyards and beaches, there is no better choice than Quintessentials Bed and Breakfast and Spa in East Marion. It is the only full-service Bed and Breakfast/Spa on the East End making it the perfect place for pure comfort and leisure. Regulars often return to de-stress at this one-stop service establishment. Innkeeper and Spa Director Sylvia Daley certainly understands what makes people come back year after year. Guests are treated to delicious gourmet, healthy food and gorgeous rooms with lush beds. They can then head downstairs to the spa to be pampered from head to toe (by the way, many products are made on premise with natural ingredients such as avocado and grape seed oil). Afternoon tea is served at 3pm at the Asian-inspired Tea House. Quintessentials offers the perfect environment to unwind.

Last, but certainly not least, is East Wind Inn and Spa in Wading River. Truly the most all-encompassing, fullservice spa on this list, you can plan a weekend of pampering with girlfriends or your significant other, or simply head to the spa for an afternoon treat. The services run the gamut with expert hair styling, nails, make-up, massage, facials, and overnight escapes all designed to spoil you. In addition, East Wind is the only spa on Long Island to offer nationally-recognized cosmetic surgeon Dr. Stephen T. Greenburg's Glisten Med-Spa services, including botox and restylane treatments. The Inn is beautiful with a great restaurant, workout facility and indoor pool all for your enjoyment. The Inn and Hampton Jitney have teamed up to offer an exclusive $99 North Fork Day Spa Connection which includes full transportation and a number of other perks. You can check online or call for more information. The location is prime, set close to the winery trail and the Tanger Outlet Center in Riverhead. You will not want to leave.

I don't know about you, but all of this "spa" talk makes me want to head out for a little indulgence of my own. So, let the experts take care of you for a while... you deserve it!
